The Member of Parliament for Wassa Amenfi East Constituency in the Western Region has embarked on a “Thank You Tour” to express gratitude to constituents for their massive support in the 2024 elections.
During the almost two-week tour, the MP, Hon. Nicholas Amankwah provided relief items to various communities, including roofing sheets, to rebuild homes devastated by recent heavy rainstorms.
In Suhyenso community, the MP, affectionately called Home Boy, donated 10 packs of roofing sheets, approximately 200 pieces to help rebuild affected homes.
At Tawiah Krom, he rescued a family by donating 250 pieces of roofing sheets to restore their accommodation.
Additionally, a basic school serving Djorboa community and nearby areas, which was damaged by the storm, received roofing sheets and other building materials, with the MP assuring support for the entire construction of the school.
Home Boy also engaged with the Wassa Akropong Government Hospital to discuss plans that could benefit both staff and the community, demonstrating his commitment to providing quality healthcare.
Furthermore, Hon. Amankwah visited flood-affected areas, including Wassa Akropong Farmers and Christ Apostolic Church, to gather first-hand information about the devastation caused by the recent heavy rains.

He expressed solidarity with the affected residents and suggested permanent solutions to prevent future flooding with a call on residents to develop a positive mindset towards acknowledging that a hygienic environment is a shared responsibility.
To mitigate the impact of flooding, the MP has taken a proactive approach by dredging drains in affected areas, aiming to ensure the smooth flow of water and reduce the risk of flooding.
By clearing debris and silt from the drains, Hon. Amankwah hopes to prevent the flooding that has been a major concern for residents.
The “Thank You Tour” showcases the MP’s dedication to serving his constituents and addressing their needs.
