The Ghana Medical Trust Fund today joined stakeholders at the launch of the Fit to Prosper: Health, Nutrition and Population Strategy for West and Central Africa; a bold regional initiative aimed at strengthening health systems and expanding access to quality care.
The event convened government leaders, development partners, and key actors across the health sector to align on practical actions toward achieving universal health coverage and improving service delivery.
Speaking at the event were Ghana’s Minister of Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh; Dr. Robert R. Taliercio of the World Bank Group; and Dr. Mamta Murthi, World Bank’s Group Vice President for People.
Representing His Excellency President John Mahama was the Chief of Staff Hon. Julius Debrah. He emphasized that health remains the foundation for industrial growth and a critical driver of national development.
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund’s participation reflects its commitment to strengthening health systems and supporting reforms that ensure a full continuum of care; from financial protection to making healthcare more accessible, coordinated, and effective for all.
