Speaking on the floor of Parliament, Hon. Lardi Awuni noted that Daddy Lumba’s music goes beyond entertainment. She described his songs as powerful messages of hope and unity that resonate with Ghanaians across all walks of life. “His songs are not only played at parties, weddings, and funerals—they carry national significance and speak to the soul of the nation,” she said.
The MP highlighted the personal and emotional connection her constituents have with the late musician, especially through his hit song “Theresa”, which is frequently played at events in her constituency. “No matter the occasion, if I’m present, they play ‘Theresa’ to welcome me,” she shared.

She used the moment to encourage her fellow parliamentarians to draw lessons from Lumba’s legacy of unity. “Let us not just smile at each other in Parliament—let our words and actions be sincere. Whether it’s business brought by the Majority or Minority, let us work together with love and genuine commitment,” she urged.
