The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), arrived in Japan today, 19th August, 2025 to participate in the 9th Tokyo International Conference for African Development (TICAD 9), scheduled to take place from 20th to 22nd August, 2025 in Yokohama, Japan.
The Summit is expected to focus on co-creating innovative solutions under the key pillars of economy, society, and peace and stability.
It is co-hosted by the Government of Japan, the United Nations, UNDP, the World Bank, and the African Union Commission.
Since 1993, TICAD has served as a key forum for dialogue between Africa, Japan and international partners to drive sustainable development.
The Honourable Minister will also hold bilateral meetings on the margins of the Summit to further strengthen existing relations and also explore news opportunities for cooperation.
