Ghana international Tariq Lamptey has switched to Serie A outfit Fiorentina from Brighton and Hove Albion on transfer deadline day.
The Black Stars pacey defender joins the Italian club on a permanent deal worth £6 million plus add-ons.
With his wealth of experience following with Chelsea and Brighton, the Ghana international is expected to play a huge role for the club this campaign.
Lamptey will battle it out with Brazilian right-back Dodo for starting role at the club. He will wear the number 48 shirt for La Viola.
The 23-year-old endured an injury-hit campaign last season, making just 15 appearances for Brighton, scoring two goals and serving several assists.
Lamptey was left out of Brighton’s matchday squads for their opening three fixtures against Fulham, Everton, and Oxford United.
Since joining Brighton from Chelsea, he made 104 appearances, scoring three goals.
Having sealed his move, the defender is expected to travel to Ghana to join his Black Stars teammates for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying games against Chad and Mali.
