Former Spanish footballer and 2010 World Cup champion Andrés Iniesta faces charges of alleged aggravated fraud in Peru.
He is linked to sporting and artistic events that were never held, despite a $600,000 investment from Peruvian businessmen.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, Iniesta allegedly used his reputation to attract capital under the false pretense that the projects would be approved and carried out by his companies, NSN Barcelona and NSN South America, which ultimately did not happen.
