The Paramount House Chapel International, led by its founder Prophet Albert Asihene-Arjarquah, has declared a major shift toward development-oriented ministry, announcing new commercial farming projects and youth empowerment programmes as part of its vision for “modern Christianity.”
Speaking at the church’s first anniversary celebration in Koforidua, Prophet Asihene-Arjarquah said the contemporary Church must promote both the spiritual and physical wellbeing of its members.
He noted that the church has already begun fish farming and plans to expand into crop production, contributing to national food security.
“If the Church does not change its role in society, many young people will withdraw,” he said.“Our youth are engaged in fish farming and will soon start crop farming. Farming is necessary for every economy, so we are mobilizing resources to support these projects
According to Statista, Ghana spent over US$3.5 billion on food imports in 2023, a situation the Prophet described as unsustainable and detrimental to an economy with high unemployment rate.
Prophet Asihene-Arjarquah also revealed that the Church plans to establish an ultramodern school by 2026, focusing on academic excellence and religious values.
The long-term vision, he said, includes the establishment of a tertiary institution to support future generations.
Currently, the Church is establishing radio station in Koforidua to create job opportunities for the youth.
He emphasized that empowering the youth is crucial to the future of the Church.
Rev. Prof.Frimpong-Manso, former General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church Ghana, commended the initiative, noting that the era when church members only gave without receiving support must end.
“Now is the time for the church to give back,” he said. “By starting farms, schools, and development projects, churches can empower their people. I have encouraged them to establish a credit union as well.”
He urged churches nationwide to create employment opportunities, especially for the youth, to reduce involvement in illegal mining (galamsey) and other social vices.
The Omanhene of New Juaben, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng II, who graced the event, urged churches to reflect the true image of God by promoting transformation and development in their communities.
The Paramount House Chapel’s first anniversary celebration was attended and supported by many dignitaries including Member of Parliament for Akuapem North Sammy Awuku, who made generous donation to support initiatives of the Church..
