The Defence Ministerial Advisory Board has held its maiden meeting at the Ministry of Defence, marking a significant step towards strengthening the country’s defence administration and enhancing national security strategies.
The meeting brought together members of the Board to deliberate on critical issues affecting the Ministry and to provide strategic guidance aimed at improving its operational effectiveness.
Welcoming members to the inaugural session, the Acting Minister for Defence, Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to building a strong, responsive and efficient Defence Ministry capable of addressing the evolving security challenges facing the nation.
He emphasized the importance of expert advice and collaboration in shaping policies that will enhance the Ministry’s capacity to safeguard Ghana’s peace, stability and territorial integrity.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister for Defence, Hon. Ernest Brogya Genfi, presented a comprehensive briefing on the current state of the Ministry. His presentation highlighted key priorities, ongoing projects and strategic initiatives designed to improve the Ministry’s performance and operational readiness.
The session also provided an opportunity for members of the Advisory Board to offer expert recommendations on policy development, governance, administration and other matters relating to national defence and security.
The establishment of the Defence Ministerial Advisory Board is expected to play a crucial role in supporting the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and ensure effective decision-making in the country’s defence sector.
