Solomon Owusu has stated emphatically that President John Mahama needs to concentrate more on carrying out the duties specified in Ghana’s Constitution rather than on gaining popularity.
Speaking in an interview Mr. Owusu asserted that the publication of the most recent IEA study, Owusu contended that constitutional duties offer a more significant standard for government performance than surveys.
“President Mahama should go back to Chapter Six of the Constitution and look at what is expected of him.”
Chapter Six of the Constitution outlines the Directive Principles of State Policy, which serve as the foundation for national government and growth.
According to Owusu, governments risk being distracted if they place too much emphasis on popularity figures.
“This business of ratings can sometimes be deceptive.”
He argued that whether important national goals are being met should be the major concern rather than a president’s popularity.
“As we speak, what many young people are waiting for is employment.”
