Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader in Parliament, has slammed the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing it of dishonesty and asking opposition supporters to stay together ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Speaking at a rally of party supporters in Sefwi-Wiawso in the Western North Region, the Effutu MP called for unity, discipline, and renewed dedication as the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) gets ready for upcoming elections.
Afenyo-Markin questioned the governing NDC’s performance, claiming that it had fallen short of the promises and expectations made to Ghanaians during the 2024 election campaign.
“We should ask ourselves, is the NDC delivering on its promises? The NDC is a complete scam. They are 419 people. They come to you and lie to you and when you give them power, they do nothing.
“But they can only achieve that if we ourselves are divided. So today, in Sefwi-Wiawso, I speak to the entire region on behalf of the flagbearer, on behalf of Parliament, on behalf of all the elders of the party and plead with you to unite.”
The Minority Leader’s remarks also addressed the need for supporters to be vigilant, urging them to evaluate the performance of the governing administration and continue to participate actively in local political discourse.
