The Assembly Member for the Old Estate Electoral Area in Koforidua, Rebecca Ofori Darko, has picked nomination forms to contest for the Women’s Organiser position of the New Juaben South Constituency of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Rebecca Ofori Darko picked up the forms on Monday, June 22, 2026, amid strong support from both male and female party members and delegates, who expressed confidence in her ability to lead and strengthen the women’s wing of the party in the constituency.
Speaking to the media after picking her nomination form, she reiterated her commitment to promoting unity within the party and intensifying efforts to mobilise women ahead of the 2028 general elections.
According to her, although the party’s performance in the constituency declined during the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections, she remains optimistic that through hard work, effective mobilisation, and strengthened grassroots engagement, the NPP can regain and maximise its votes in the constituency.
Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party has officially opened nominations for its Constituency Executives Elections as part of efforts to reorganise and strengthen its constituency structures.
The nomination exercise runs from Monday, June 22, to Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
Vetting of aspirants will take place from June 25 to June 27, while appeals from dissatisfied aspirants will be handled between June 28 and June 30.
The Poll notices will be issued from July 2 to July 5 ahead of the Constituency Executives Elections scheduled for July 11 and July 12, 2026.
