Aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko, has called on party members to unite and work together to secure victory in the 2028 general elections.
Mr. Agyarko made the call after concluding a two-day tour of the Eastern Region, where he engaged party members and supporters as part of his campaign for the NPP National Chairmanship position.
He expressed appreciation to party members in the region for the warm reception accorded him, describing it as an encouraging sign of support for his bid to lead the party.
According to him, the NPP’s electoral history demonstrates that unity has been central to its successes, while internal divisions have often contributed to electoral setbacks.
He therefore urged party members to put their differences aside, forgive one another, and work together to rebuild and strengthen the party ahead of the 2028 elections.
Mr. Agyarko said he intends to engage members who feel disappointed, aggrieved, or disillusioned with the party and create opportunities for them to reconnect with the NPP.
He described himself as a “bridge” for disgruntled members, saying his goal is to help bring people back into the party’s fold and harness their contributions toward its future success.
He also stressed the importance of prioritising the welfare of party members, arguing that political power should ultimately translate into improved living conditions for ordinary party faithful and Ghanaians as a whole.
Mr. Agyarko noted that it would be disappointing for the NPP to regain power without delivering meaningful development and improved living standards for the people.
Looking ahead to the 2028 elections, he expressed his determination to work towards the election of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as President and the NPP’s return to government.
He appealed to party members and delegates to consider his experience, vision, and commitment to unity as they prepare to elect the party’s next National Chairman.
Mr. Agyarko said his priority would be to build a stronger, more united NPP capable of winning the 2028 elections and providing effective governance for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
