Chief Executive for the Upper West Akyem District in the Eastern Region, Mr. Eugene Sackey has expressed gratitude to President Akufo-Addo led administration for releasing funds to invest massively in Education in his District.
According to him, the District was not left out from the National cake and in 2019, a total of 93 Students in Tertiary level received Scholarship while 106 applications are currently under Vetting for 2020 Scholarship.
Accounting to the people on his achievements in office for the past three years, Mr. Eugene Sackey said Adeiso Senior High school which is benefiting from the Free SHS policy has received six Units classroom blocks which has been completed and ready for use in next Academic year.
He said another 12 unit girl’s Dormitory block is ongoing with 12 seater toilet for the girls and six-seater for the entire School.
The DCE said a six Unit classroom block has been completed for Abamkrom, Asuokaw Islamic, KG block for Nndoda, and a three-unit classroom block for Kwasi Nyarko School.
Other projects which are near completion and ongoing includes Six unit storey building for Adeiso Presby, six Unit classroom block at Asukyerema, KG block at Atimatim, three Unit classroom block for Owurakeseam and Mepom R/C KG.
Others are a three-unit classroom block for Domponiase, Asuaba, a six-unit classroom block for Adetim,12 unit classroom block for Adeiso Presby Primary, Six unit classroom block for Asuokaw Islamic Primary, and Adeiso KG.
Projects he (the DCE) inherited and completed are six Unit classroom block at Kumikrom,3 unit classroom block at Domeabra, Kofi Kyere D/A Primary, and other renovation and roofing work.
Mr. Sackey said a total of 1,650 dual desks and 350 Teachers Tables and Chairs have been distributed to Schools and Teachers in the District.
