Abomosu Model Senior High School, a new second-cycle school being constructed by President Akufo-Addo led government in Atiwa West District in the Eastern region is 90% complete.
The project is made up of 24 classrooms, an assembly hall, dormitories, 8 laboratories, a dining hall, and 6 apartments for staff.
Abomosu Model Senior High School is also fitted with the full complement of amenities such as playing fields, administrative buildings, and libraries.
Additionally, the V-Block school has a total of 24 classrooms, as opposed to 12 classrooms in the E-Block schools constructed by former President John Dramani Mahama.
The consultant is confident the project is expected to be completed and handed over to the Ghana Education Service in the next few months contrary to the initial completion year of 2020.
It is part of some seven Senior High Schools government commenced construction in 2019.
According to the former Minister of Education Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the establishment of these new senior high schools comprises the construction of seven (7) new Senior High Schools and the upgrading of two (2) existing schools into model schools, making a total of nine (9) schools.
The seven new schools are located at Kwadaso, Dabaa, Awaso, Abomosu, Akrodie, Weija and Kpasenkpe. Seven (7) out of the nine (9) schools are proposed science-focused schools, with the other two being the first-ever Creative Arts School, Kwadaso, in Kumasi, and a Senior High Technical School at Dabaa, named after former President John Agyekum Kuffour.
