An appeal, filed by popular Ghanaian actress and socialite, Rosemond Brown, commonly known as Akuapem Poloo, challenging her 90 days custodial sentence has been dismissed by a High Court in Accra presided over by Justice Ruby Aryeetey.
With this, Akuapem Poloo will now have to serve her 90 days (3months) jail terms imposed on her by the Circuit Court.
Ruling on the application by the convict asking the court to set aside the custodial sentence and replace it with a fine, the court said, the 90 days custodial sentence imposed on her was not excessive and harsh.
The court while affirming the Circuit Court decision said, the punishment imposed was to cause much harm to the convict which will then become a deterrent to herself and others.
To this end, the court said, the decision of the Circuit was right and the High Court will not interfere with it.
Akuapem Poloo is currently sobbing while the court has indicated, she should continue her jail terms from where she left off from Nsawam.
