As part of the Africa CEOs Forum in Abidjan, Côte D’Ivoire, the Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Samuel Abu Jinapor participated in a panel discussion on mining, focusing on “Green Minerals: How to Fully Seize on a Historic Opportunity”.
The minister used the opportunity to tell the investor community how Ghana, with its democratic principles and respect for the rule of law, is well-positioned to serve as a hub of the green revolution.
With the discovery of lithium in commercial quantities, and with our bauxite and iron ore deposits, Ghana is ready to support the global transition from fossil fuels to batteries.
The exploitation of these minerals, however, will, as has been the policy of the President Akufo-Addo Government, be anchored on three main pillars, namely certainty for investors, value addition, and local content.
“The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources is committed to an effective and efficient exploitation and management of our natural resources, in a manner that contributes, meaningfully, to national development” the minister assured.
