The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) is on a rampage closing down hospitality facilities that have flouted the regulations of the authority.
The infractions include facilities without the license, facilities that have started registration but have not completed, and those that have been licensed but have failed to renew their licenses.
The ten days reinforcement exercise which started Monday 27th June 2022 had already seen eleven (11) hospitality facilities such as hotels, hostels, restaurants, and chop bars in the Eastern regional capital Koforidua closed down.
According to the Eastern Regional Director of Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Frederick Agyei Rudolph, the revealed that the reinforcement exercise began in Kwahu this year and it’s being continued in Koforidua whereby the GTA will be closing down 25 facilities operating without the GTA’s operational license, this is part of measures to ensure compliance of the GTA’ Legislative Instruments L. I 2238 and 2239.
