Reggie Rockstone, a legendary hip-hop artist and businessman from Ghana, has admitted that Nigerians have treated him with more respect than his own countrymen in Ghana.
He was asked if he felt disrespectful by several errors in the most recent Afrobeats documentary on Netflix during an interview on Hitz FM.
He replied, “The only individuals that humiliated me were Ghanaians from my own country, and the media supported them. In 1993, I was popping off. But the Afro Beats Documentary claims that I began in 1999, which is untrue,” he remarked.
Reggie made his statement at a time when many people are criticizing Ghanaian artists for failing to convey their own tales.
Reggie claims that although the documentary mentions a few celebrities from Ghana’s entertainment industry, it left out significant information about Ghana’s role in the Afrobeats movement.
