Spanish La Liga club, Sevilla has ended their pursuit for Ghana’s defender Alexander Djiku due to Strasbourg’s high demands.
The Ghana international has been a subject of interest for several clubs due to his outstanding performance for Strasbourg in France.
Djiku has been a long-term target for Sevilla, who are struggling in the Spanish top-flight this season.
Sevilla is currently in the relegation drop and in a bid to turn their season around, the team made an offer of two(2)million euros to sign Djiku.
But according to reports, the team has ended the chase for the Black Stars’ defender who is in the final year of his contract.
Sevilla will now have an alternative to sign Chelsea defender Malang Sarr, who is set to cancel his loan deal with Monaco.
Djiku’s current contract with Strasbourg will expire at the end of the season.
