Christian Atsu’s barber, Romeo Puyaka has broken his silence following the trapping of the Ghana winger after massive earthquake in Turkey.
The former Chelsea and Newcastle United star is yet to be found contrary to earlier reports that the player has been rescued from the wreckage following the earthquake.
Speaking in an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM, the Istanbul-based barber of Ghanaian root expressed he is confident Atsu will be found alive.
He has, therefore, called on Ghanaians to pray for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations best player.
“I’m Atsu’s personal barber. I met him through Ghanaian player Bernard Mensah who is also my customer. On Tuesday, news broke out that he has been found but that was a fallacy, he has still not been found. The agent of Bernard Mensah, Morrat has been at hospitals in Hatay with his ID card but Atsu was not found. At the moment, the rescue team are still searching for our brother”.
“I congratulated him for scoring his first goal for Hatayspor against Kasimpasa on Sunday night. We planned to meet at Istanbul on Wednesday but it couldn’t happen because of the unfortunate incident. I feel worried and it’s my prayer we see Atsu alive”
“At the moment, we are all doing our best to find our brother. The rescue team are still pulling people out from the rubbles and the good thing is that those people are still alive, so I believe we will see our brother alive”
“Atsu is not dead, so I will plead with Ghanaians to pray for him, he only needs our prayers at where he is. I believe he will be saved because of his kind heart. Atsu’s club, Hatayspor were in search of a residence for him, so he was staying with the club’s sporting director and that is how come both are victims” he said.
“Ghanaians should be patience; I will also plead with bloggers to refrain from publishing fake news and I know, miracles will rain on his life this year because of his kind heart” he concluded.
Having parted ways with Al Raed in Saudi Arabia, Atsu joined Hatayspor in September and scored his first goal on Sunday. It was a 97th minute free kick that secured three points for Hatayspor against Kasimpasa S.K.
