Ghana’s legend Yaw Acheampong has called for patience for referees in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
A lot of football fanatics and administrators have raised concerns about officiating in the ongoing domestic top-flight campaign.
But in an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM, the former Techiman Eleven Wonders and Elmina Sharks trainer jumped to the defense of referees and has therefore advocated for patient for the officials.
“Most teams have been complaining about referees but truth be told, the refereeing job is not an easy thing, it is very difficult. Even with the VAR, they are still finding it difficult to make correct judgement so I will plead with Ghanaians and club officials to exercise patience for referees” he said.
Aduana Stars are on top of the league log with 35 points after 18 matches into the campaign.
The domestic top-flight is on break this weekend because of the MTN FA Cup round of 16 games.
