The Vice President Dr.Mahamudu Bawumia on Monday February 27,2023 paid a working visit to Ayensuano District in the Eastern region to inspect an ongoing Junior High School classroom block project in Kwaboanta, a farming community .
The project, which is solely funded by Dr.Bawumia is in fulfilment of a promise made during a special thanksgiving service to climax the centenary celebrations of the Akuapem Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Akropong Akuapem last year.
The classroom block facility has computer laboratory, washrooms, teachers office and other ancillary facilities that will create conducive environment for teaching and learning.
Addressing the chiefs and people of Kwaboanta ,Dr. Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia commended the enormous contribution of the Presbyterian Church in the areas of education, healthcare delivery and human resource development of the country.
In line with a request by the chiefs and elders of the community, Dr. Bawumia also pledged to give deplorable Kwaboanta D/A basic school a facelift avoid any sense of discrimination.
The Vice President also inspected ongoing government projects, such as town roads, a 95% completed District High Court building and a 98% completed bridge in Coaltar and Amanase respectively.
He urged the contractor to expedite work on the project for completion on time to help boost agriculture and economic activities.
The Eastern regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong who led the team on the tour commended the Vice President for leading the country’s digitalization drive.
He listed the Mobile money interoperability program, the digital housing address system among a lot, as some of the many digital innovations spearheaded by the Vice President to improve the digital economy of Ghana.
