The Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon Mustapha Ussif has led officials and representatives of various sports federations to observe the 2023 World Anti DOPING Day also called the ” Play True” Day with a call on all Sports athletes to eschew cheating in sports.
The Minister noted that Anti-doping issues are becoming emerging issues and as a member of the Board of the World Anti-Doping Body, he was committed to sensitizing the public on clean sports and the dangers involved in doping.
He explained that the World Anti-Doping Agency has set every 14th of April aside as a day to celebrate anti doping across the globe and Ghana is no exception.
Hon. Ussif further stated that since Ghana will host the 13th edition of the African Games, it was important to take the issues of Anti-Doping seriously as the country prepares to host the rest of Africa.
