Bibiani Goldstars coach Michael Osei has heaped praise on Black Stars coach Chris Hughton for watching Ghana Premier League, saying he will be fair in his selection.
The Premier League manager took over as Black Stars coach in February, with George Boateng and Didi Dramani serving as assistants.
Hughton promised to keep an eye on local-based players by watching more local football after worries about their exclusion from the first call-up.
The former Brighton and Hove Albion boss adhered to his words and has already seen a significant number of Ghana Premier League matches.
In an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM, Michael Osei, who is the assistant coach of the Black Meteors stated that the presence of Hughton at the league centres will give him a fair idea about the players.
According to him, Hughton is fair and will definitely hand call up to players who are on form to play for the Black Stars.
“You can see he (Chris Hughton) is a coach who will get time for our league. He won’t relax and wait for the 11th hour to come and coach the team and leave. He has started well, watching Ghana Premier League games and I think it will motivate the young ones playing in the local scene. Definitely, you can see he has something for the local guys and I think the players too will do their best”
“He is a fair person; I think he will include every player provided you are on form to play. So, I think Hughton watching the league will help. We should give him the necessary support and wish him the best of luck to succeed”
The Black Stars will return to action next month for the final two games in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar and Central Africa Republic.
