Ghana’s winger Joseph Paintsil missed out the chance to become the second Ghanaian to scoop the Ebony Shoe Award in Belgium.
The award given annually to the best African or African origin player in the Belgian Pro League at the end of every season was held on Monday, May 22, 2023 in the European country.
Despite being on form, the Black Stars winger was unable to win the top award, losing to his Genk teammate and Rwandan Mike Tresor Ndayishimiye.
The Rwandan star has provided a record 23 assists and scored eight goals in 35 league games for Genk this season whiles the Ghana international has 15 goals and 11 assists in 34 games.
The Ghana international will hope to finish the season on a good note despite losing out on the top prize.
