Medeama duo of Jonathan Sowah and Abdul Fatawu Hamidu made a strong statement for home-based players following an impressive performance for the Black Stars against Liberia.
Hamidu played full throttle of the match whiles his club teammates made substitute appearance as Ghana defeated the Lone Stars 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Sowah climbed off the bench, ten minutes to full time and made his presence felt after assisting Jordan Ayew’s third goal for Ghana.
The forward showcased his playmaking skills by capitalizing on a pass from his club teammate Hamidu Fatawu and delivering a precise assist to Ayew, who scored from close range.
Their impressive performance has given more life to local players regarding call up into the national team.
The duo are expected to team up with their teammates at Medeama as they prepare for the final eliminator of the CAF Champions League tie against Horoya AC from Guinea.
