Ghanaian teenage footballer Newton Opoku-Mensah has joined his maker after drowning in a lake in Duisburg in Germany.
The news about the death of the Ghanaian footballer has been confirmed by his club, Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Despite effort by medics to save him, the young Ghanaian footballer has kicked the bucket.
“We are deeply shocked and can’t accept this news. Newton is a young man who lived his dream and now passed away far too soon.
“Our condolences and deepest sympathies go out to Newton’s family, teammates, and the entire team in our NLZ.” Klaus Allofs, Director of Sport & Communication said.
At this moment, the whole Fortuna family is in mourning, extending its condolences and sympathy to Newton’s family and friends in this very tough moment.
