Ghana international Joseph Paintsil registered his name on the scoresheet for LA Galaxy in their Major League Soccer defeat against Portland Timbers.
The Black Stars pacey winger lasted 85 minutes as his outfit succumbed to a 4-2 away defeat to Portland Timber in the thrilling encounter on Thursday.
Paintsil delivered an outstanding performance despite his club suffering defeat at the Providence Park.
The home team broke the deadlock through Jonathan Rodriguez, who connected from Evander Ferreira pass after just 18 minute. Ferreira, who assisted Timbers opener, then found the back of the net in the 36th minute mark to double his outfit advantage in the game.
Before the halftime break, Gabriel Pec scored to pull one back for LA Galaxy in the highly competitive clash.
After the halftime break, Evander Ferreira found the back of the net again to extend the host lead before the Ghanaian international pulled one back for the visitors in the 59th minute.
Portland Timbers continued their dominance in the crucial game, scoring in the 80th minute mark through Felipe Mora to seal a comfortable win for the home team.
Paintsil has been outstanding for LA Galaxy since switching from Belgium outfit KRC Genk in February 2024.
The 26-year-old Ghanaian enterprising winger has racked up eight goals and provided seven assists in 24 games for LA Galaxy.
