The Black Stars of Ghana will for the first time in 20-year not participate in the Africa Cup of Nations following their horrible performance in the qualifying series.
Ghana, who are four-time winners of the AFCON struggled to find rhythm in the recently concluded qualifiers, losing three and drawing three games.
The West African powerhouse finished bottom of Group F, accumulating just three points from six games.
The Black Stars wrapped up the qualifiers on a poor note on Monday afternoon, succumbing to a 2-1 defeat at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Having failed to finish among the top two teams in their group, the Black Stars will now miss the tournament to be staged in Morocco next year. The last Ghana missed out on AFCON was back in 2004.
They will now shift their attention to the 2026 World Cup qualifications next year.
