The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has maintained Otto Addo as head coach of the Black Stars team despite failing to secure qualification to the 2025 AFCON tournament.
After a comprehensive review, the domestic football governing body opted to keep Otto Addo for upcoming games.
Meanwhile, the FA has effected major changes in a bid to revamp the national team ahead of upcoming tournaments.
Among the key appointments, experienced German tactician Winfried Schafer, who guided Cameroon to the 2002 AFCON glory, has been named the technical advisor for the Black Stars.
He will work closely with coach Otto Addo and also serve as the Director of Football to the Ghana FA.
Desmond Ofei, the current head coach of Ghana’s U20 team, joins the Black Stars’ technical bench as an assistant coach, replacing Joseph Lauman.
Meanwhile, John Pantsil and Fatawu Dauda have retained their roles under Otto Addo.
In addition, Kris Perquy, a seasoned sports psychologist with 17 years of experience, has been appointed to enhance the team’s mental preparedness.
The technical setup also includes Belgian video analyst Gregory De Grauwe, who brings extensive expertise from his time with clubs such as Sporting Lokeren and K. Beerschot VA.
