The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo, has called for stronger collaboration between the government and the Jospong Group (Zoomlion Ghana Limited) to enhance sanitation in the region.
As part of her familiarization tour, Hon. Ocloo met with the management and staff of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, reiterating the crucial role of the waste management company in achieving the government’s 24-hour economy vision.
Hon. Linda Ocloo who doubles as MP for Shai Osudoku reiterated her determination to leave a lasting legacy of cleanliness in the region.
She stressed the importance of public-private partnerships in driving sustainable sanitation solutions and assured stakeholders of her continuous collaboration to achieve this goal.
Greater Accra Region with population of over 5 million people, is faced with increasing waste management challenges. Previous government failed to honour promise to make the National capital cleanest city in Africa.
During the meeting, the Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, assured the new Minister of Zoomlion’s readiness to deploy additional machinery and services to improve waste collection and disposal in Accra.
He reaffirmed the company’s unwavering commitment to supporting the government’s sanitation agenda, stating that the 24-hour economy policy provides a unique opportunity to ensure round-the-clock waste management operations that will keep the capital clean.
The staff of Zoomlion expressed appreciation for the Minister’s engagement with key stakeholders in the sanitation sector.
They pledged their full support to making Greater Accra the cleanest region in Ghana.
