Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have parted ways with coach Prosper Narteh Ogum following a string of an unimpressive results.
The decision to part ways stem from the clubs back to back defeats in the Ghana Premier League campaign. Kotoko succumbed to a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Accra Lions, followed by a 2-0 loss to city rivals Nations FC.
Ogum made a return to Kotoko in 2024, where the club failed to annex the Premier League title.
In 28 league games this season, Kotoko had 13 wins, 8 draws, and 7 defeats. Inconsistency had eventually paid its price, and the Interim Management Committee (IMC) felt a change of tack was needed prior to the crucial MTN FA Cup semi-final tie against Berekum Chelsea.
Ogum guided Kotoko to a traditional league win in the 2021/22 season during his first tenure – a season that brought back memories of the club’s golden years and instilled hope in the fans for a sustainable future.
