Asante Kotoko has appointed Abdul Karim Zito as the technical director and interim coach of the club following the departure of Prosper Narteh Ogum.
The former WAFA gaffer was shown the exit door on Monday following a string of unimpressive results in the Ghanaian top-flight.
Ogum’s sacking stem from the back-to-back defeat in the Ghana Premier League. The succumbed to a 3-0 defeat to Accra Lions followed by a 2-0 defeat to Nations FC.
In a significant technical team reshuffle, the club has appointed Zito to serve as the technical director and interim coach of the team.
A revered figure in Ghanaian football, Coach Zito returns to the Porcupine Warriors with an impressive resume, having led Dreams FC to a historic semi-final run in the CAF Confederation Cup and previously guiding Ghana’s U-20 team to glory at the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

Joining Zito in the new technical structure is Prince Yaw Owusu, who takes up the role of assistant coach.
Owusu brings over 20 years of rich coaching experience from Ghana, Sudan, and the United States. His track record includes stints with Medeama SC, Inter Allies, and Khartoum National Club, as well as various national team roles.
Meanwhile, the experienced Malik Jabir transitions into the role of Technical Advisor.
Jabir, a former Kotoko great and one-time technical director, will now provide strategic oversight to aid the club’s long-term ambitions.
