A gory accident at Amanase near Suhum on the Accra-Kumasi Highway has claimed the lives of over 11 passengers with 14 others sustaining varied injuries .
Three including a pregnant woman in critical condition.
The fatal accident occurred early hours of Tuesday when an empty fuel tanker with registration number GR-1300-16 veered off its lane and collided with a speeding Sprinter bus.
Eyewitnesses say the impact of the crash was devastating, killing 11 on the spot with over 14 passengers sustaining varied injuries.
The driver was reportedly sleeping.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Suhum Government Hospital morgue, while the injured are receiving treatment at various health facilities.
Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey visited the victims at Suhum Government hospital and the scene to sympathize with them. She donated ghc5000 to the hospital to purchase essential medication to take care of the victims.
Medical Doctors say 3 including a pregnant woman are in critical condition hence referred to Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua.
