Former member of Parliament for the people in Ahafo ano south east constituency Hon. Francis Manu Adabor, who is a New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, has expressed strong displeasure over the suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo by President John Mahama
According to him, the suspension is not just a personal affront to the Chief Justice but an attack on Ghana’s democracy and the judiciary as an institution.
The former member of Parliament Hon. Francis Manu Adabor stated that President John Dramani Mahama is telling the people in the country that Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo is an NPP member and, for that matter , he is bring an NDC Party member to be in the office as a Chief Justice.
He called on President John Dramani Mahama to let Ghanaians know what he was about to stop attacking the judiciary services.
He indicated that he would join the people who would embark on a nationwide protest in response to what they describe as an unconstitutional assault on the judiciary.
“Our democracy is under attack. Our judiciary is under attack. Do not think that this attack is on the person of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo. No. It is the entire judiciary.
He said president John Dramani Mahama should expect a massive protest from the NPP. We will agitate, he said that we will not sit down quietly. This is unconstitutional,” he said.
