Pyramids FC have etched their name into the history books of the CAF Champions League history after triumphing over Mamelodi Sundowns in the finals.
The Egyptian outfit prevailed over Sundowns in the two-legged final to secure their first ever Champions League title.
Pyramids inflicted a 2-1 win over Sundowns at the 30 June Air Defence Stadium, completing a 3-2 aggregate win to clinch the covetous trophy.
The host opened the scoring through DR Congo star Fiston Mayele in the 24th-minute as the host went to the halftime break with the advantage.
The Egyptian doubled the advantage in the 56th-minute mark through Ahmed Samy before Sundowns pulled one back through Iqraam Rayners in the 75th minute.
Before the return clash, both teams had settled for a 1-1 draw at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
Having clinched the title, Pyramids have secured qualification to the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup tournament.
