Two executives of transport union, Peace PROTOA in the Eastern regional capital, Koforidua now live in fear after a contract to kill them backfired.
Joshua Kofi Soga and Sampson Adjei, popularly known as Kotoka, are therefore calling on the police service to fast track processes in dealing with the issue as their families now live in danger.
According to Sampson Adjei, one Patrick Aklasu (Kwaku Boo) who is currently a land guard in Accra came to him on 16th May 2020, and disclosed that the suspect, Yaw Adogo has contracted him and another colleague to kill the above-mentioned executives as their actions at the station is not going down well with him.
One of the victims Kotota, as affectionately called revealed that Patrick Aklasu, who was first working with the union queried if he (Kotoka) has any issue with his brother, Yaw Adogo to warrant him call for his death.
“Patrick Aklasu on the 16th of May came to my house and secretly informed me that my brother, Yaw Adogo has contracted him and other colleagues to kill me and Joshua Kofi Soga because we are making things difficult for him at the station. So I replied to him (Patrick Aklasu) that I had no issue with my brother and that, he (Yaw Adogo) even send me on errands anytime he needs something. He (Patrick Aklasu) however, advised me to be careful of my brother (Yaw Adogo) because he can hire different persons to kill me as he has turned down the offer” Kotoka narrated.
According to Kotoka, the matter was then reported to the Municipal police command after Patrick Aklasu accepted to be a witness to the case, where their statements were taken.
He added, the Commander in charge at their presence ordered the matter to be sent to court for the law to take its course.
The Municipal Police Commander for New Juaben South, Superintendent Nicholas Opare Ofosu-Hene who confirmed the contract killing case to the media in Koforidua, indicated that the two gentlemen who were allegedly contracted by Yaw Adogo to kill two persons at Peace PROTOA station came to the police and had their statements taken.
According to the Commander, after narrating the incident to the police, he then told them that the matter before him was above his control and therefore referred it to Galloway, the Eastern Regional Police Command to deal with the matter.
Even though the matter was expected to commence at the Cocoa Ase court on Wednesday, 3rd May 2020, it was shockingly adjourned abruptly which according to the victims comes with no tangible reasons and is, therefore, calling for fair justice.
Meanwhile, information gathered by the reporter also revealed that Yaw Adogo ordered Patrick Aklasu to engage in the evil act in exchange for Ghc2,000.00 after he had earlier requested for some money to start a new business as being a land guard is no more a lucrative venture.
