Former Liberty Professionals midfielder, Kennedy Ashia has finally revealed why he rejected Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak move during his stint with the Accra based despite been on top form.
Ashia, a member of the 2013 U-20 world championship team after his exploits in the tournament drew interest from several clubs both in the country and abroad.
It is believed the two most glamourous clubs in the country shown interest to sign the budding midfielder but opt to join a team abroad.
However, Kennedy Ashia explaining why he dumped both clubs indicated he could have gained a lot of enemies if he should have joined any of the clubs, hence the decision to move abroad instead.
Speaking to Don Summer of Angel FM in Kumasi, he said, “Football is my work but the reason why I did not play for Kotoko, Hearts and Ashantigold is that I didn’t want to get enemies”
“It has happened among some of the senior players. When the two big clubs decide to sign to you it generates a lot of heat, so if you join one of these two clubs you become an enemy to the other”
“So because I didn’t want to get any bad name, I prayed to God get me out of this” he concluded.
