An 18-year-old young man who murdered his 100-year-old grandmother for refusing to give him money to buy wee has been arrested by the Police.
The suspect Kwasi Budu Danlad was arrested at his hide up and currently in Police custody.
A spokesperson for the bereaved family, Daniel Otoo told Bryt FM, the family has banished the suspect hence wants him to be jailed for life.
The 100-year-old woman was allegedly been hacked to death by an 18-year-old grandson at Awutu Osardu Community in the Agona East District of the Central Region.
The deceased identified as Prophetess Comfort Aba Otuaa said to be a traditional birth attendant killed in her room allegedly by suspect Kwasi Budu Donald.
“Around 7:00pm – 8:00pm, I had information from one of the people in this House that my mother was not switching on the light in her room so should go inside and check. when I went inside I noticed there was blood all over then I suspected she has been killed. I shouted for help. He butchered her and pushed her body under the bed and run away. He has killed his own grandmother. He went to her for money and she refused to give him because he will use it to buy weed “Akua Nyarko told the media.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue.
The suspect is being prepared to put before the court.
