Former Asante Kotoko player, Daniel Acquah has appealed to the current management of the porcupine warriors to keep both their squad and coaches for three years if they want to succeed.
The Porcupine Warriors are noted for poor player recruitment and transfer policy as the club has been unable to keep its entire team for more than a season.
This has affected the Kumasi based club from making positives impact in the various competitions they participate and according to their former defender, the club can return to winning ways should they maintain their team for three seasons.
He affirmed, giving a long term project to players and coaches will bring consistency which will subsequently help the club to achieve laurels.
Speaking to Light FM, he said, “The success of Asante Kotoko in the olden days was the reason that, they kept the players for a longer period. There are a lot of the old players (Frimpong Manso) who understand football and they are willing to help the club in signing good players for a longer period.”
“The former defender appealed to the club to have a long term recruitment plan.
“I am pleading to the management and the board to keep the players and coaches for at least three years to provide experience and raise the club consistency. Doing this will help the Kotoko succeed in the foreseeable future” he said.
