The Kotoka International Airport in Ghana has recorded 135 COVID -19 positive cases from September to October 29, 2020.
Even though the cost of one hundred and fifty United States dollars (US$150) per passenger, for the mandatory airport COVID test, has been criticized in certain quarters, the value of the test in its speed, accuracy, and savings for passengers, who no longer have to bear the cost of the 14-day mandatory quarantine in hotels, has been established.
Despite the requirement that all passengers must have a negative PCR test result upon their arrival in Ghana, a test which should have been conducted not more than seventy-two (72) hours before the scheduled departure from the country of origin, a total of 53 people have recovered and discharged and Active cases from KIA is 82 as of 29th October 2020.
The entire Country active cases as of 29th October are 620 with 320 deaths, three critical, 8 severe, and two on ventilators.
Test conducted under the period stands at 534,364 with 48,200 positive while 47,260 have recovered and discharged.
