Former under-17 Ghana Black Starlets player, Awudu Issaka has demanded the Ghana FA authorities to arrest Inter Allie’s goalkeeper Danso Wieredu Mensah for the obvious bias display during their final game with Ashanti Gold SC.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has been responding to calls for an investigation following Saturday’s final matchday encounter between Inter Allies and Ashanti Gold on Saturday after many footballs fans and other stakeholders alleged there was a match-fixing game display.
A viral social media footage showed what appeared to be two premeditated own goals scored by Inter Allies defender Hashmin Musah including an awful display from the goalkeeper.
Speaking on Angel Tv, the 42-year-old retired midfielder requested the immediate arrest of Danso Wieredu Mensah.
According to him, the goalkeeper’s display was undesirable and purposeful behaviors during the game indicated he took Ghanaians for granted and that cannot be tolerated anywhere in the world football nonetheless the major league in Ghana.
“It is shameful. Very shameful for such a display from much a league most people are beginning to love again. The FA should arrest him immediately for such corrupt behavior” he cautioned.
The GFA statement did not reference the Legon Cities and Eleven Wonders Sundays encounter which was allegedly rigged after the footage of “cheap goals” that came out of the tie.
