Former deputy Transport Minister Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover has called on the Minister of Youth and Sports, Yussif Mustapha to engage Kurt Okraku’s led Ghana Football Association over an attempt to sack Coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor.
The domestic football governing body is believed to be unhappy with the performance of trainer Charles Kwabla Akonnor following the Black Stars 2022 World Cup defeat to South Africa.
The leaders of the federation are ready to wield the big axe on Akonnor despite the coach having an existing contract with the federation that expires early next year.
However, the former Member of Parliament for Tema East who sees Kurt Okraku as the main problem for the national team has entreated the Sports Minister to engage coach Akonnor together with the Ghana FA over recent happenings in the Black Stars.
“I will plead with the Minister of Youth and Sports to engage CK, Kurt Okraku, and his entourage because they are just playing with the heart of Ghanaians. They should allow CK to work” he told Sylvester Ntim of Bryt FM in Koforidua.
“The FA is not helping the coach and wants to sack him; they are just playing. Truth be told, Kurt Okraku is the problem for Black Stars, not Akonnor. He should allow CK to do his job and the Minister too must not sit down” he said.
