Veteran journalist Kwesi Pratt Jr. has revealed former president John Dramani Mahama did not agree with the changes even though he was contacted before the recent reorganisation of the Minority leadership in parliament.
“The former president did not endorse this,” he revealed based on his impression from conversations he had with top member of the party”.
“I have spoken to many people, and from what I’m told unless those who spoke to me are a bunch of bloody liars and so on, the former president did not appear to be very happy about this arrangement,” Mr. Pratt said on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on Wednesday.
The Speaker of Parliament has been informed in writing by the National Democratic Congress of changes to the minority’s leadership in the House.
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has been chosen by the party to succeed Haruna Iddrisu as minority leader.
Additionally, the party has also appointed Kwame Agbodza and Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah to the positions of chief whip and deputy minority leader, respectively.
“I am told that he actually advised against it…from what I am hearing, he cautioned against this move,” the managing editor of the Insight newspaper stressed.
