The Member of Parliament for Asuogyaman, Thomas Ampem Nyarko, was mobbed by traders operating at Atimpoku roundabout during valentine’s day which coincided with his birthday.
The avalanche show of love from the traders was reciprocated with sharing of bars of chocolate by the MP to about 100 traders.
To the surprise of the MP, the traders presented a nicely packaged birthday present to him amid singing of birthday songs.
Thomas Ampem Nyarko meanwhile constructed rumble strips to enhance safety of the traders.
Same day, the lawmaker established KG school at Dorlakofe a remote community in Asuogyaman District to serve children in two additional communities -Kojokpo and Tankaskorfe.
Due to absent school facility in the area, children in the three communities go to school only after seven years when they are safe to trek on about 10Km bushy road to nearby school at Akwamu Gyeketi.
A sharp contrast to SDG 4 which enjoins countries to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
The KG school was started in collaboration with GES and Global Evangelical church that gave out their church building to be used as temporal classroom.
The MP provided Teaching and Learning materials, furniture, cash of ghc2000 ,a brand new motorbike to the first Teacher who accepted posting to the school and promised to provide bags of rice to be cooked for the students every Friday.
The MP will pay monthly stipends of the Teacher until GES absorbs the school and employs the teachers.
The Asuogyaman District Director of Education Augustina Adjoa Owusu commended the MP for his intervention stating that late enrollment in early childhood education affects cognitive and skills formation of children.
He therefore urged parents in the beneficiary schools to enroll their children.
Rev.Mrs.Love Srebi of Global Evangelical Church, Akosombo District urged the communities to take advantage of the facility to provide early childhood education for their children.
