The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has expressed confidence that the NDC will secure the Akuapem South parliamentary seat in the upcoming December 7 elections.
Speaking during a campaign tour at Adombrobe community in Akuapem South in Eastern Region, Asiedu Nketia criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what he described as decades of underdevelopment in the constituency.
He urged voters to support the NDC’s candidate, Lawrence Adwoa Djiwornu, to end the NPP’s dominance in the area.
Addressing community concerns, Asiedu Nketia pointed to the deplorable state of roads, which he claimed were initiated by the NDC in 2016 but abandoned by the current NPP government.
He assured residents that the NDC would resume these projects if returned to power.
On the issue of vote buying, the NDC Chairman accused the NPP of hoarding stolen funds and using them to influence voters.
He advised constituents to accept any money or gifts offered by the NPP, stating that it was their own stolen money being returned to them.
Asiedu Nketia concluded by emphasizing the need for change, stating that the NPP’s alleged corruption can only be addressed by voting them out and allowing the NDC to take over to ensure accountability.
