The Eastern Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Mark-Oliver Kevor, has dismissed claims that former President John Dramani Mahama is dissatisfied with his performance in the region.
The allegation, attributed to the Eastern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jeff Konadu, and published by some media houses
Dr. Mark Oliver Kevor, in a strongly worded response, described the claim as a fabrication intended to distract from the NDC’s campaign efforts.
He reaffirmed that John Mahama remains highly impressed with the region’s organizational work, which contributed to the success of his recent 5-day campaign tour of the Eastern Region.
According to the Eastern Regional Chairman, Mahama openly commended the Eastern Regional NDC for its effective campaign strategies and high level of preparedness ahead of the December 7 elections. “At no point did he express disappointment,” Dr. Kevor stated, adding that the tour was manifestation to the region’s commitment to ensuring an NDC victory.
He emphasized that the NDC is focused on contributing significantly to the party’s success in the upcoming elections and will not be distracted by what he termed “lazy functionaries of the outgoing party” attempting to gain relevance and credibility through baseless accusations.
Dr. Mark Oliver Kevor urged NDC supporters and the public to disregard the claims, which he said are a desperate attempt to divert attention from the challenges facing the NPP’s campaign in the region. “We have a clear plan for victory in 2024, and the support we have received so far only strengthens our resolve,” he noted.
Advice to NPP Leadership
The Eastern Regional NDC Chairman advised Mr. Konadu to focus on revitalizing his party’s struggling campaign instead of making unfounded allegations. He warned that any further attempts to undermine him or the NDC would only expose the NPP’s incompetence and poor leadership in the region.
Dr. Kevor concluded by reiterating that the NDC is poised for victory in the upcoming elections, with Ghanaians ready for a change that will restore hope and rebuild the nation.
The December 7 elections are expected to be fiercely contested as both the NDC and the NPP seek to secure the mandate of the Ghanaian people.
