The former Eastern Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress NDC Tawiah Boateng popularly known as “Otafregya” has called on the Inspector General of Police IGP George Akufo Dampare to immediately investigate and prosecute individuals who were identified in a viral video compromising the electoral process in the recent special voting on December 2nd.
Reacting to some specific incidents which occured on December 2nd Special Voting Day including the sharing of food by the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon Lydia Seyram Alhassan as well as some officers in uniform taking pictures of votes cast in favour of a particular candidate and showing it publicly, Tawiah Boateng indicated that the IGP must show commitment in pursuing the case to set as deterrent to others on December 7th.
Tawiah Boateng further noted that democracy thrives on security of every nation therefore if the IGP is willing and ready to protect the democracy of the country he should be seen acting to prevent anything which threatens the electoral process and the country’s democracy.
The former NDC Eastern Regional Chairman Tawiah Boateng a.k.a Otafregya made this known when addressing the media in the New Juaben South Constituency during the Special Voting which was rescheduled by the EC to take place on 5th December in the Eastern and Western regions .
Additionally, Tawiah Boateng expressed disappointment in the EC for the turnout events leading to the burning of ballot papers questioning the competency of the EC to handle this year’s December 7th elections.
He equally urged Ghanaians to especially the clergy to vote for change on December 7th to help protect our family values and proper sexual relations because the NPP has demonstrated their support to LGBTQ hence the President failure to sign the LGBTQ bill passed by parliament.
