The Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre has officially launched its 2026 Conflict Prevention Course, bringing together participants from Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, and Benin.
Supported by the Government of Switzerland, the programme aims to enhance the skills of professionals in peace building, security, and international relations. Participants will gain practical tools to assess conflict dynamics, detect early warning signals, and respond effectively within their respective sectors.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Commandant Zibrim Ayorrogo highlighted the growing importance of proactive conflict prevention in today’s complex security environment.
He noted that the course aligns with key regional frameworks, including those of the Economic Community of West African States and the African Peace and Security Architecture, while promoting inclusive engagement and collaboration.
Combining lectures, case studies, and hands-on exercises, the course underscores KAIPTC’s ongoing commitment alongside partners such as Switzerland to advancing peace and security across Africa.
