Naabans Foundation, a registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), has held a one-day media engagement on sustainable support for communities in the Eastern Region.
The dialogue seeks to explore practical ways in which media organizations can collaborate with Naabans Foundation in resource mobilization efforts through visibility, storytelling, advocacy, and strategic partnerships.
The media encounter was tabled at addressing pressing community development needs. Naabans Foundation operates in the Suhum Municipal, Komenda-Edina District, and Ayensuano District. It focused on education, health, and livelihood empowerment.
The foundation has been faced with major constraints in mobilizing adequate resources to scale up and sustain interventions in deprived communities, particularly in the Suhum and Ayensuano Districts.
Nana Abena Asomakyere, the Executive Director of Naabans Foundation, after the engagement, called on the government to come out with an initiative to support the aged people to help alleviate poverty in the country.
Speaking on transparency and fairness, Nana Abena Asomakyere debunked the trend of NGO personnel gains after using resources acquired from donors. She pledged that the foundation will remain committed and accountable to its partners.
Nana Abena Asomakyere expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Star Ghana as a solid partner over the years. She articulated that the foundation, with full vigor, aims at championing education, health, and livelihood empowerment in communities in the region.
She appealed to individuals, philanthropists, and organizations to join hands with the Naabans Foundation to reach out to the less privileged in societies.
The Eastern Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Stephen Ampem Darko-koranteng, acknowledged the effort of the Naabans Foundation, aiming to help the needy in the region.
Stephen Ampem Darko cautioned the management of the foundation to uphold its integrity and be faithful to donors and partners.
